Bill received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bellarmine University in Louisville. He completed his Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama, and his Family Nurse Practitioner at Indiana State University.

Jennifer is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Rockford College and her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Southern Indiana.

Fundraiser for Harrison County Animal Control
Our chosen charity this quarter was Harrison County Animal Control, in honor of National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day, today, April 30! Our staff and their pets had a penny war.
Sam & DJ, who belong with Lori Moberly, RN and House Supervisor at HCH, were the winners raising $114.60.
Overall, we are proud to be sending $596.20 over to our friends at Harrison County Animal Control, Corydon Indiana, and we appreciate all that they do. Thank you to our staff and all who contributed!
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day April 26
Safeguard your loved ones and prevent medication misuse. Saturday, April 26 is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day! Properly disposing of old or unwanted prescriptions is crucial for preventing accidental ingestion, especially by children and pets.
Harrison County Hospital is a collection site, not only on Drug Take Back Day, but every day! Safely dispose of un-needed prescription medication in the Emergency Department waiting area. Look for the bright green box that looks like a trash can.
Materials Management awarded Supply Chain Excellence Award
The Harrison County Hospital Materials Management Team received the 2024 Supply Chain Excellence Award this week from Alliant. The award honors healthcare organizations that demonstrate excellence in supply chain spend management and participate in Alliant Purchasing’s national program.
The Materials Management Department demonstrated leading innovation and dedication to enhancing supply chain operations. One of the key criteria for the award was supply savings of greater than 10% and Harrison County Hospital’s supply savings was 12%. Thank you to our Materials Management team for your hard work and congratulations on your award!
An Important Update about Obstetric Services at Harrison County Hospital
Harrison County Hospital has made the difficult decision to suspend obstetric services effective March 31, 2025, as we will no longer have any obstetric providers. This decision was made after careful evaluation of physician recruitment challenges nationally and the hospital’s commitment to ensuring viable, quality care for patients. Despite extensive efforts, recruitment challenges made it unsustainable to continue offering labor and delivery services at this time. Hospital leadership is committed to the communities we serve, with the expectation to provide quality care for expectant mothers and their infants. We are actively engaged in recruiting full-time and qualified obstetric providers to serve Harrison County Hospital.
We recognize the vital role that obstetric care plays in our community and understand that this change impacts many families. While OB services will be suspended March 31, we remain committed to ensuring a smooth transition for patients. Our team is working closely with each patient to provide referrals to trusted providers and assistance with transferring medical records to ensure continued access to quality maternity care.
While labor and delivery services will no longer be available, gynecological care will continue through Women’s Healthcare of Southern Indiana (WHCSI). Dr. David Murphy, a board-certified experienced gynecologist, will be joining WHCSI in May 2025 to provide complete gynecologic services and surgery. We want to recognize the hard work and dedication of every team member throughout this transition. Please be assured this decision has been difficult, and we understand the serious situation rural hospitals in Indiana face given the scarcity of obstetric providers. Leadership will continue to assess our community’s healthcare needs and keep staff informed of any future developments in maternal health services.
