Our focus is on keeping you well and well informed on health issues. Harrison County Hospital and the Harrison County Hospital Foundation urge you to take advantage of our many wellness screening events and health education programs designed to meet your needs at various stages of your life.

Do you need an employee health screening or
guest speaker to address health issues?
In addition to our regularly scheduled wellness events and health education programs provided throughout the year, our professional staff is available to conduct health evaluation screens on-site for your employees, or speak on health topics at a meeting of your organization. Our New Hospital is Open!
The New Harrison County Hospital is located on the south side of I-64, between SR 337 and Corydon-Ramsey Road, in Corydon. Directions: I-64 to Corydon Exit 105. Turn right onto SR 135. Turn right onto SR 337. At 4-way stop, turn right onto Corydon-Ramsey Road. Turn left onto Hospital Drive.

Stop Smoking Successfully. *
$30 fee includes book and educational materials (does not include nicotine replacement products). Minimum of four participants must be enrolled for class to be held. Call 812-738-8708 for more information and registration.

Hope & Healing Grief Support Group
Free monthly support group for anyone who has experienced the death of a friend or family member. Group meets on the first Tuesday of each month, 6:00-7:30pm in the Capitol Room 2.

Childbirth Education Classes *
Free classes offered by the professional nursing staff of the Hospital meet every Wednesday for 4 weeks, 7:00-9:00pm, in the Parvin Baumgart Education Center at the Hospital: April 9, 16, 23, 30; June 4, 11, 18, 25; August 6, 13, 20, 27; October 1, 8, 15, 22. Breastfeeding/Lactation Consulting
Breastfeeding consultations can be arranged by calling Melanie Abner, 812-738-6183.

Community Health Screen*
Saturday, May 10, 8:00-10:00am by appointment only, in Rehab Services. Free Cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure testing. PSA testing, for $5, for males age 50-64, or age 40-64 with family history of prostate cancer. Full Lipid Panel for $5; For an appointment, call Wellness & Education at 812-738-7869. Reservations for appointments are made 30 days prior to the event.

Diabetes Management*
One-on-one assistance for those who have recently learned they have diabetes or those who have lived with diabetes but need information in the basics of diabetes management. For information and appointments, call 812-738-4251, ext. 2671.

American Red Cross Blood Drive
Monday, April 21 and June 16, and Wednesday, August 20 and October 29. 2:00-6:00pm in the Parvin Baumgart Educational Center.

Breast Self-Exam
Apr 24, Jul 24, Oct 23, 2:00-3:00pm, General Surgery Associates, Medical Office Building at 241 Atwood Street. Free instruction by registered nurses on breast self-excam technique. Call 738-0177.

Siblings Class
Apr 3, July 3, October 2, in Capitol Room 1, 6:30-7:30pm. A free class especially for the Big Brothers and Sisters of newborns prior to Baby's arrival at HCH. For information and to arrange for additional class dates, call 812-738-8708.

Child Car Seat Inspections
